Effie smiled, and nodded. Carter wasn’t so bad. Of course, they still had a bit of warming up to do, but she was sure they would be able to manage.
Effie got out, and stood by Carter, looking at her carefully. “Ready?” She asked her, quietly, as she took in all the people that were more excited than herself. She bit on her lip, nervous as she looked at the brown eyed girl beside her.
Carter look at Effie. “Yeah.” Actually she was nervous, pretty nervous, but she greet everybody on the side of Effie, trying to be nice and sweet with everyone even being so fucking tired of being in those heels. After and the season of photography with the family and all, she grabbed the hand of Effie, and get inside of the car again with her, ‘cause is finally is the night of both of them consume their marriage, but it’s not gonna happen in that day. Both felt the same thing, even Effie being nice person she need to get to know her.
Once they already arrived at the hospital by the morning, they’ll travel to honeymoon, in Greece. She take off her clothes, and shoes and bouncing to the bed, and sighed deeply. “Bed sweet, bed oh my God! Never thought marriage would be so boring!”
Effie nodded. “I can always cook later,” She told her. She kept her eyes on the road, turning left to her apartment complex. She drove through the parking garage, looking around. She pulled into a spot, unbuckling her seat.
Carter, get out of the car, and followed the girl till her place, and step inside after her, and she look around her apartment is so comfy, and cozy, and she look back at Effie. “It’s beautiful here..”
Effie closed Carter’s door, and walked to the driver’s side, sliding into the seat. “No problem,” Effie smiled at her. “I live alone. I flew the nest a while back, after my mom got a bit over bearing while I was in school.” She gave Carter a smile, buckling her seatbelt. “What do you feel like eating, Carter?”
“Just a little bit..” Carter gives the girl a kindly smile, while watch the streets as Effie began to drive. She yawned with a hand on her mouth and rest her head on the headrest of the passenger seat. “I’m actually tired, tho."
Effie smiled. “That’s not a problem. Come on,” Effie told her. She dug in her pocket for her keys, and looked at Carter. “Are you hungry?” She asked the girl.
Effie was so ready to leave, she had her daily dose of clubs for the night.
“Yeah, a little bit.” Once Effie open the door, Carter got inside of the car on the passenger seat, and put the seatbelt, and give a sweet smile to her. “Thank you.” She meant it, it’s not everyday you find someone kind enough to hung out with a stranger and help them. She look at Effie with an amused smile. “So, you live at your parents or alone ?”
Effie nodded. “Okay.” She was in agreement with Carter completely. She seemed to be the only person talking or making any sense. “Maybe we can try to be friends and get to know each other when we’re alone. Let’s start there.”
Effie said, and leaned her head on the seat, running her fingers through her hair. They could try to get along, right?
Effie didn’t need her to love her, she just wanted to try to be friends… be decent and know something more than just the girl’s name.
And damn, the traffic was terrible in that day, so Carter turned to face Effy, and she fix her dress and everything. “Let’s start, apparently we wouldn’t came earlier to the party.. Tell me something about you, everything you will probably something I don’t know about you.” Carter starts.
She playing with her dress with her index finger and look into the beautiful blue eyes of Effie, and giggling. “I like pets. I hope some day I’ll get a cat. My family never liked animals.” She said with a cutely pouty, but they’ll live together if Effie doesn’t likes animals that’s fine to Carter, she’ll find another way to stay close of them.
She brushed her short brown hair with her fingers, and chewing her bottom lips, and resting her head on the window of the car. “Do you have a hard day today?” She trying to get any conversation, and for the love of God, they’ll live together for ever.

Cheryl’s eyes widened as she listened to the details of Carter’s life. ”Your ex shot your friend?” she gasped, setting her water glass down. ”That’s horrible! Why the hell would he do that?” She stopped talking for a moment while the waitress served them their lunches. ”I hope your friend—the one who got shot—is okay,” she said softly as the waitress left. ”What’s his name?”
“Yeah, but I know he didn’t want to… Looking into his eyes..” Carter look down, and sighed deeply and took her glass of orange juice and sip it. “Well, he bought this fucking gum to save us of the dangerous for our safety.. But he show the gun to me, and he was about to show how this works, and then he shot my best friend… He left me with my best friend dying in my hands, and I take care of him, and called 9 1 1, and saved him.” Carter explained remembered the tragic night. “He’s ok, but depressed he didn’t find a job, and he has bills to pay, and that’s the reason I’m working, to give my all money to him, till he find something, and his name’s Max.” cheryl1967
Effie laughed, and nodded. “Okay. Got all of your stuff?” She asked, smiling.
The true is, Carter doesn’t has stuffs, she has the only clothes that she’s wearing at the moment, the kidnapper didn’t has buy or gave Carter new clothes. “Ah, well.. I don’t have clothes nor stuffs, the bag is..” She look down to herself, and then stared at Effie. “It’s me. I really don’t have anything to wear.. So. That’s it.” She said with a sighed, and crossed her arms, to get inside of the pub where Effie kissed her she just distracted the security of the place. But both girls outside in the middle of the night, in Chicago… She doesn’t know what’s the next step for now.
Effie laughed. “I’m serious. And I trust you, no one can lie about something like that. I mean really, come on… what’s the worse that could happen? Would you rather be out here?”
Carter chuckled but Effy has a point, there’s nothing worst that could happens. But she don’t know the girl life so she don’t want bothers her anyway. “ Ok, then lead the way!"
